Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has made headlines by appearing on BTS Jin’s solo variety show, Run BTS Jin, during his visit to Korea for the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two (aka Mission: Impossible 8) promotions.
Tom Cruise joined the filming of the show during his brief stay in Seoul on May 7. This marks his 12th visit to Korea, and the first time he has ever collaborated with a BTS member on screen. The episode will be featured on BANGTAN TV, BTS’s official YouTube channel, as part of the film’s global promotional efforts.
While director Christopher McQuarrie met with Korean filmmaker Choi Dong-hoon for a “Masters Talk” and Simon Pegg and Greg Tarzan Davis guested on Epik High’s YouTube channel, Tom Cruise’s solo appearance on Run BTS Jin is expected to draw massive global attention.
The movie Mission: Impossible 8 is set against the backdrop of a looming global catastrophe. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and the IMF team take on a high-stakes mission that could determine the fate of humanity. The film is scheduled for release in Korea on May 17, and has been invited to the Cannes Film Festival (Out of Competition).
This crossover of global pop culture icons is one of the most exciting moments in 2025 entertainment so far.
