Stray Kids Make History With First Japanese Stadium Concerts
Stray Kids captivated Japan by performing their first-ever stadium concerts at Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa as part of the ‘Stray Kids World Tour <dominATE>.’ The group held four solo shows on May 10-11 and 17-18, drawing an impressive 220,000 fans from across the country.
The concerts marked Stray Kids’ debut in a Japanese stadium, following previous successful dome performances in Tokyo and Osaka. The excitement extended beyond the stadium, with select shows broadcast live in cinemas nationwide and streamed online, allowing over 110,000 additional fans to join virtually.
Showcasing Global Hits and New Music
Fans enjoyed powerful live renditions of hits like “Thunderous,” “Chk Chk Boom,” “God’s Menu,” and “Walkin On Water.” The group also gave a surprise performance of the upcoming title track “Hollow” from their third Japanese mini album, set for release on June 18.
“Hollow” combines the English meaning of ’empty’ and the Korean word for ‘lonely,’ expressing heartfelt emotions through sincere lyrics and uplifting melodies. Stray Kids shared their wish to comfort fans who feel alone, promising to fill their emptiness with music.
Festival Atmosphere and Fan Appreciation
The stadium shows featured fireworks, giant balloons, and mascot costumes representing all eight members, creating a festival-like experience. During the finale, the group expressed their gratitude to their fandom STAY, saying, “We could achieve this stadium concert because of you. We will always cherish your hearts. We love you.”
Next Stops: North America and Europe
After their triumphant shows in Japan, Stray Kids are set to take their world tour to 10 cities in North America and 6 in Europe, beginning with Seattle on June 4.
