PLAVE, the virtual idol group, has been nominated for the prestigious Best Song Asia award at Music Awards Japan 2025 (MAJ).
Major Japanese Music Award Nomination
The MAJ is one of Japan’s biggest international music award ceremonies, with over 5,000 industry experts and global fans voting through Spotify. The event aims to connect the world and brighten the future of music.
PLAVE stands out as the only virtual idol nominated in the main category, proving their popularity and influence in Japan. Their mini-album title track “WAY 4 LUV” earned them a spot in the Best Song Asia category, which recognizes top chart performers in East and Southeast Asia.
Other K-pop Nominees
PLAVE joins fellow K-pop acts Rosé (nominated for Song of the Year with “Apt.”) and aespa (nominated for Best Song Asia with “Supernova”) in the main categories. At the Sub Category awards, NewJeans won Best K-Pop Song in Japan with “Ditto.”
Upcoming Activities
PLAVE will officially debut in Japan with their single “Kakurenbo” on June 16. They are also set to kick off an Asia tour in August, expanding their global reach and musical presence.
The MAJ Grand Ceremony airs live on NHK and streams worldwide on YouTube.
