Rising K-pop group NCT WISH will not be joining the highly anticipated SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in L.A. concert due to unexpected visa delays, SM Entertainment confirmed on May 10.
According to the official statement released via SM’s social media, the agency explained that although all necessary procedures—including document submissions and interviews—were diligently followed, the group was unable to receive visa approval in time for the concert.
“We sincerely regret to inform fans that NCT WISH will not be able to perform due to visa issues,” the statement read. “We made every effort until the last moment, but the visa approval was ultimately delayed, and the reason for the delay is still unclear.”
The label extended its heartfelt apologies to fans who were looking forward to seeing NCT WISH on stage, stating, “It’s heartbreaking for both the members and the team. We apologize for not being able to keep our promise despite our best efforts.”
This unfortunate news means that NCT WISH will miss out on participating in the special 30th anniversary celebration of SM Entertainment. SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in L.A. is set to take place on May 11 (local time) at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles, featuring artists such as TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee (Key, Minho), EXO (Suho, Chanyeol, Kai), Red Velvet (Irene, Seulgi, Joy), NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV, aespa, RIIZE, Heart2Heart, and SMTR25.
Despite this setback, SM Entertainment reassured fans that NCT WISH will continue to work hard and return with better performances in the future.
