💬 “It was a happy workplace… but the hate came without reason.”
On the May 11th episode of TV Chosun’s “Baekban Journey with Heo Young-man”, actress Jeon So Min candidly reflected on the emotional toll of malicious comments she received during her 7-year run on SBS’s “Running Man.”
Joining Heo Young-man on a food tour through Yongsan, Jeon shared the story of how she became a fixed cast member. “I appeared as a guest twice, and then I was offered a permanent role. I ended up staying for about seven years,” she recalled.
While Heo praised her hosting skills, Jeon humbly redirected the credit:
“The older members handled the hosting. My role was more about playing a character—participating in games and the variety aspect. It was a joyful workplace for me.”
But behind the laughter and games, there was emotional pain.
“The more attention you receive, the more chances there are to get hurt,” Jeon confessed. “Of course, other people also get hate, but in my case, I felt like there was no real reason behind it. That made it harder to process.”
She even revealed how the experience shaped her thoughts on her personal life:
“I thought maybe if I build stronger emotional support—like getting married sooner—it could help me endure things better.”
Jeon officially stepped down from Running Man in November 2023 to focus on her acting career, ending a 6-and-a-half-year journey. Earlier this year, she made a brief return as a guest, drawing warm reactions from fans.
