🎬 IVE Returns with Upgraded Variety Energy in ‘1.2.3 IVE’ Season 6
The campus queens are back — and they’re funnier than ever.
On May 9, Starship Entertainment officially launched Season 6 of IVE’s original content series, ‘1.2.3 IVE’, via the group’s official YouTube channel. This season kicks off with the members transforming into global campus “it girls,” competing to be the cover star of a fictional magazine titled “University Tomorrowland.”
In this first episode, each member took on a different role:
- An Yujin rocked the cheerleader major from California,
- Gaeul was a chic hotel culinary arts student,
- Rei slayed as a fashion design major,
- Jang Wonyoung showed off her elegance as a ballet student,
- Liz took on the role of a classical vocalist,
- Leeseo turned heads as an ice hockey team queen.
To win the coveted cover spot, they first had to complete the “calendar photo shoot” challenge — a mission where members formed duos to take S/S and F/W photos of each other. Teams were decided through a mini game, resulting in:
- Yujin & Leeseo,
- Gaeul & Wonyoung,
- Rei & Liz.
The members then competed in hilarious games like “Red Light, Green Light” and a mini curling battle to earn photo props ranked by quality (Top, Mid, Low). Gaeul & Wonyoung won both games and secured the top-tier props. Rei & Liz got mid-tier, and Yujin & Leeseo ended up with the least glamorous ones.
But that didn’t stop Yujin. Holding a ladybug plush, she joked, “This is Ladybug~” — parodying junior group KiiiKiii’s debut song ‘I DO ME’ in a hilarious moment that had fans laughing.
Before the photo shoot, the staff laid down one surprising rule: “No zoomed-in selfies.” The girls’ reactions were instant. Wonyoung cutely protested, “But that’s our skill!” and Yujin added, “Our face is our weapon,” setting the tone for a hilarious session ahead.
Each team’s creativity shone through:
- Gaeul & Wonyoung used their premium props like flowers and graduation caps to produce high-fashion calendar shots.
- Rei & Liz leaned into trendy MZ-style poses like half-heart selfies and dual-camera angles, enhanced by Rei’s signature photo-editing flair.
- Yujin & Leeseo, with fewer props, stole the show with unique concepts like shaking red peppers and creating a traditional Korean “nongak” scene using toy drums and headbands — pure variety gold.
At the end, the production team crowned Yujin & Leeseo as the overall winners. Staying in character, Yujin quipped, “True queens only do covers. Such an honor.” When Gaeul teased her saying, “The photos are too funny for a queen,” Yujin replied, “A real queen has to be funny too. Being pretty isn’t everything!” — wrapping the episode with laughter.
This new season comes on the heels of IVE’s successful third mini album, ‘IVE EMPATHY’, which expanded their identity from self-confidence to emotional connection. With hit tracks ‘REBEL HEART’ and ‘ATTITUDE’, IVE swept 15 music show trophies and was recently named Most Influential Girl Group at the 2025 Brand Customer Loyalty Awards.
