ATTRAKT to Appeal ‘Unanswered Questions’ Lawsuit Decision

ATTRAKT, the agency behind FIFTY FIFTY, has announced plans to appeal after losing a damages lawsuit against SBS’s investigative program ‘Unanswered Questions’ (also known as ‘그것이 알고 싶다’). The lawsuit centered on the show’s coverage of the FIFTY FIFTY contract dispute, which attracted widespread attention in 2023.
Broadcasting Commission Issued Warning
Although the Korea Communications Standards Commission issued a ‘warning’ to the program for its coverage, the court ruled that the broadcast did not constitute defamation and that the content was not false. ATTRAKT’s CEO Jeon Hong-jun criticized the verdict, calling it “contrary to common sense” and confirmed the agency’s intention to appeal.
FIFTY FIFTY Group Status Update
Following the contract dispute, FIFTY FIFTY has reformed with returning member Keena and continues activities as a new five-member group. Three former members are now promoting as a trio under ATTRAKT.
This case remains a focal point in ongoing debates about artist management and media responsibility within K-pop.
