ATTRAKT to Appeal SBS Lawsuit Over Fifty Fifty Coverage

ATTRAKT, the agency behind girl group Fifty Fifty, has announced plans to appeal after losing a damages lawsuit against SBS’s investigative program ‘Unanswered Questions.’ The lawsuit centered on the show’s coverage of the high-profile contract dispute between ATTRAKT and Fifty Fifty.
CEO Jeon Hong-jun criticized the court’s decision, stating, “The broadcast received a warning from the Korea Communications Standards Commission, and we will appeal.” He expressed concern over the program’s portrayal of events, including claims about profit transparency and management behavior.
The Seoul Southern District Court ruled that the broadcast did not constitute defamation, finding the content was not false. The controversial episode, aired in August 2023, faced over 1,100 viewer complaints and was officially warned by the broadcasting commission for lack of fairness.
Current Status of Fifty Fifty Members
Following the dispute, Keena rejoined ATTRAKT, reforming Fifty Fifty as a five-member group. The remaining three former members now promote as a trio after their contracts were terminated.
ATTRAKT remains committed to pursuing legal action, signaling ongoing controversy in the K-pop industry.
