💔 FIFTY FIFTY’s Keena Halts Promotions Due to Health After Legal Clash with Producer Ahn Sung-il
FIFTY FIFTY’s Keena is taking a sudden break — and now we know why.
On May 9, her agency ATTRAKT revealed that Keena’s health significantly deteriorated after facing former producer Ahn Sung-il in a legal confrontation. The agency stated, “Following the cross-examination with Ahn Sung-il, Keena’s condition worsened. She will take a break for the time being.”
⚖️ The Copyright Battle Over ‘Cupid’
The conflict stems from the global hit ‘Cupid’. In August 2023, Keena filed a criminal complaint against Ahn for forgery of private documents, claiming he forged her signature and unfairly limited her copyright stake to just 0.5%.
However, on May 8, a Korean court ruled against ATTRAKT in a copyright ownership confirmation suit, recognizing Ahn’s company The Givers as the rightful copyright holder of ‘Cupid’ — a blow to the agency’s claims.
🛑 Keena’s Absence from Promotions
Earlier, on May 7, ATTRAKT had already announced via Weverse that Keena would not be joining FIFTY FIFTY’s current promotions for health reasons. They explained, “After careful discussion and her own wishes, we decided she will sit out the album activities to focus on recovery.”
FIFTY FIFTY released their 3rd mini album ‘Day & Night’ on April 29 without Keena’s participation.
🌀 The Fallout from the Group’s Legal Drama
Ahn Sung-il was previously named as a key figure behind FIFTY FIFTY’s infamous contract dispute in 2023. As a result, former members Saena, Aran, and Sio left ATTRAKT and redebuted under a new label, ABLOOM. Only Keena returned to ATTRAKT and now promotes with new members under the FIFTY FIFTY name.
