BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ made her second solo appearance at the Met Gala last night, walking the red carpet with newfound independence and confidence.

In 2021, ROSÉ attended her first Met Gala alongside Anthony Vaccarello as Saint Laurent’s ambassador. During her Vogue interview about this year’s event, she shared, “Anthony was the perfect partner for my first Met Gala. While I’m sad he couldn’t join me this year, I’ve grown since then. I’m excited to enjoy this stage on my own. It’s thrilling to walk this carpet as an independent woman.”
Though nervous about her second Met Gala, ROSÉ aimed to approach the moment with more coolness, confidence, and composure. She even attended Charli XCX’s concert in Brooklyn on May 4th where she showcased the “Apple Dance,” but quickly switched to focus mode for the Met Gala preparations. Her pre-event “mental checklist” included planning potential poses for the red carpet.
This year’s look was a complete departure from her sexy black mini dress from 2021. ROSÉ revealed she drew inspiration from several sources, particularly Anthony Vaccarello’s suits. “I was greatly inspired by the Saint Laurent show. Anthony continues to experiment with women’s suits, and I’ve been honored to wear his amazing creations multiple times.” The Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2025 collection featured 49 looks, most focusing on tailoring—an unexpected direction for a brand known for exploring glamorous, edgy femininity.
Beyond Saint Laurent, ROSÉ’s look was also influenced by dandyism and the legendary fashion journalist André Leon Talley. She paired her black suit with a cape, harmoniously blending Talley’s signature style with Saint Laurent’s modern aesthetics, creating a truly authentic “ROSÉ-style” Met Gala look that balanced classic and modern elements.
