Hearts2Hearts Security Under Fire for Excessive Force Incident
SM Entertainment’s girl group Hearts2Hearts is at the center of controversy after a security guard allegedly used excessive force on a fan at Incheon International Airport. The incident occurred on June 8 as the group departed for their schedule in China.
According to reports from JTBC’s ‘Case Chief,’ the guard was seen pushing a woman identified as A with his arm and allegedly striking her face with an elbow. The altercation, which quickly spread online, resulted in A suffering injuries requiring four weeks of recovery.
Witnesses stated that the situation escalated after the security guard shouted at A, accusing her of pushing the members. The two continued to argue inside the airport shuttle train, raising questions about the appropriateness of security measures in public spaces.
SM Entertainment responded, claiming the guard acted to protect the artists from persistent physical contact by fans. Online reactions remain divided, with some criticizing the guard’s actions as assault, while others defend the need for strong security.
This is not Hearts2Hearts’ first airport security controversy, as a similar incident involving fan interactions and security occurred in March.
The debate continues over how best to ensure both artist safety and respectful treatment of fans in crowded public venues.
