The long-awaited legal showdown between K-pop group FIFTY FIFTY and their former agency ATTRAKT is finally set to begin, two years after the high-profile contract dispute first emerged.

On August 22, Seoul Central District Court will hold the first hearing for ATTRAKT’s 13 billion KRW (approx. $9.4 million) lawsuit against former FIFTY FIFTY members Saena, Sio, Aran, their families, and producers involved in the “Cupid” hit. The agency alleges contract violations and tampering after the members attempted to suspend their exclusive contracts in June 2023.
The group rose to stardom with “Cupid,” breaking records on the Billboard Hot 100 just 130 days after debut. However, disputes over contracts, finances, and alleged outside influence led to lawsuits and the group’s split. While member Keena returned to ATTRAKT and relaunched FIFTY FIFTY as a five-member group, Saena, Sio, and Aran have continued their legal battle and signed with a new label.
Both sides have filed countersuits, and the case remains highly confidential. Fans and the industry are watching closely, as the outcome could set new precedents for K-pop contract disputes.
