Cha Eun-woo Applies for Military Band, July Enlistment Likely
K-pop star and actor Cha Eun-woo may begin his mandatory military service as early as July 2025 after completing his interview for the Korean Army Military Band.
On May 9, his agency Fantagio confirmed, “Cha Eun-woo recently applied for the army’s military band and has completed his interview. He is currently awaiting the final result.” Although the interview was conducted privately, fans spotted him near the Ministry of National Defense building, sparking buzz across social media.
The military band had been accepting applications from late March through early April, with successful candidates chosen via interviews. Final results will be announced on May 29 via the Military Manpower Administration website. If selected, Cha Eun-woo is expected to enter basic training and begin active duty as a military band member in July.
Despite the upcoming enlistment, Cha Eun-woo is actively fulfilling his schedules. He is currently filming the Netflix original series ‘The Wonderfuls’ and preparing for the upcoming movie ‘First Ride’. As a member of ASTRO, he will also participate in the group’s fourth solo concert tour ‘The 4th ASTROAD: STARGRAPHY’ in Korea and Japan this June.
Born in 1997, Cha Eun-woo (age 28, Korean age) gained widespread popularity through K-dramas such as ‘My ID is Gangnam Beauty’, ‘True Beauty’, and ‘Island’. His recent appearance on the tvN variety show ‘Living Together in Finland’ showcased his natural charm and earned him even more affection from fans.
